Back in the day high school pic....
Been off the forum for quite some time. However while moving, today I came across a picture from high school. 71 383 Road Runner in GY8 gold. Man I miss that car....

Re: Back in the day high school pic....
It was really a blast from the past looking through all the old pics. Probably the best part of moving is finally sorting through all the "stuff". Found pics and car info that I had not seen in years. The down side is seeing the pics remind me of how bad I want a 71 RR and a 70 Charger to replace my dads car that he sold when we were growing up. I still have the 71 Satellite that came from the same dealership as my moms 71 Satellite so at least I have one covered!!
Just can't decide on what to do with it. It is a low mileage original car that is to nice (in my opinion) to do a rebuild. It really needs a top quality resto but it would probably be 35-50k to have it done. So...it will sit a little longer until I can figure out what path to take.

Re: Back in the day high school pic....
The newspaper clipping above is almost correct.....however I must confess. This was really my first car love.. 71 Demon 340 which was a factory hood scoop and rear wing car. It was also a GY8 car and got repainted gold while I owned it. Had a blast in the car until a co-workers boyfriend decided that he wanted the car. I told him it was not for sale. He said, "you name the price and I will buy it". I thought of a price that I thought I could find a better replacement. Keep in mind this was like in 1989-1990. Anyway I said "$6000". He said okay. I left work and went to tell my dad that I thought I sold my car for $6000. My dad kind of laughed it off and said good luck on that. Then a few hours later, I had the money in hand. That is what lead to getting the 71 Road Runner!!!dangina wrote:very cool - thanks for sharing!

I sure do like seeing pics from back when! Those were really cool. Awesome cars! I graduated in '84. There were always muscle cars lurking around back then. I just found some 1980s pics of my best friends 68 SS396 Chevelle. He sure was glad to get them. I wish I had pics of my 72 Satellite before I wrecked it! Excellent find!
What year were the pics made?

The gold 71 Road Runner pics where from late 1990-93. The 340 Demon pics were from late 88 to mid 1990. The orange Satellite...lol..just taken last month when I went up to check on one of my other projects and watch the 440 being run on the dyno!
