New/old introduction

I am not necessarily new to the site. I was an active member many moons ago when i had a nice driver 72 FE5 satellite and a 71 FC7 Super Bee. I sold the sat several years ago and just recently sold my super bee to fund my latest purchase...now I can officially become a bird nester as this is my first ever roadrunner!

From as far as I can tell so far it is a VERY well maintained 71 EL5 Roadrunner 383 AG car. I have had it less than a week and I can not take my big mitts off of it as i sit in the garage all night drooling and polishing it!

Supposedly it was owned at one time by Dante and I need to get ahold of him to verify it. All I can honestly say is that it has had to have had a line of very serious dedicated owners who have left her relatively untouched and have kept her very free of modifications...in short...she was loved for more than 40 years and it shows.

Unfortunately no BS sheet yet. As for finding one i have my doubts...its an LA built car. Too bad because it is about the only way to verify some of the options like louvers, spoilers, and wheels.

Okay enough talk...

First car show was less than 24 hours after getting her!

The plan is not to do much of anything other than putting some miles on and enjoying it for what it is. I was depressed at selling the bee, but was reinvigorated once I got her.

Hi, welcome, if that is the car that was on ebay, I looked at a bunch of times. Nice car. As far as the louvers go, there will be a j68 on the fender tag. What did you mean be AG car? Or did you mean AC car. Where are you located?

Hey Very nice car. I saw it for sale but I am knee deep in a Duster resto. I would be proud to own it. Enjoy!

Yeah it was on ebay twice. It is located fairly close to where I work so I called and went by after it did not sell in the first auction. I was so blown away at the car that before i knew it I agreed to buy without having any collateral. He agreed to hold it while I sold my super bee.

Several months later I still had the bee and we had not kept in touch. He put it up on ebay again which promptly restarted our conversation. I agreed to let the auction run its course and he set a deadline on me selling the bee. No one bid on the auction again and I sold my bee by our deadline so i went and picked her up last saturday.

He and i honestly did not think it would work out. He was very sad to see it go...I on the other had am just thrilled at having it. He's a good guy and I will keep in touch and he has first dibs if I choose to sell.

It was a small local show at a park in racine. I think it was the racine cruisers club or something like that. A camaro and a cutlass beat me out...oh well. I met another mopar guy with a sweet survivor FE5 70 roadrunner. Another 383 AG car to boot! he was the third owner and the car had spent its whole life in a barn in Burlington. It was in very similar shape to mine. We had a lot to talk about!

It's a glitch in the way the site handles images...

I see. Is it better to attach as attachments then rather than linked from my photo bucket account?

Most likely. This is an issue Dave is aware of and has been trying to solve...

The workaround is to reduce the size of the externally hosted photos to 640x480. Anything larger is cropped along the right edge.
