The Special Order SSP

So after purchasing the 72 RR last year I was working in my driveway fixing some electrical issures and this guy walks up. He says WOW is this a real RR? I said yes and he said that he recognized the tail lights and just couldn't believe it. He went on to say that he had the sister to my car. He said he had a Satellite Sebring that his grandfather ordered new. After talking for a while he said that he had an offer I couldn't refuse, 'IF YOU GET IT OUT OF MY YARD YOU CAN HAVE IT'. So I was thinking that if he is going to give it to me it must be pretty beat up and rusted out. In my head I thought I could use another parts car for my RR since he said it had some bad rust. Well I met over at his house to look at the car and I couldn't believe what I found.
It was a low mile well optioned SSP with special order EV2 paint! He also said he rebuilt the 318 .020 over 484 cam edelbrock intake and holley 4bbl. As for rust, it has perfect floor pans and a solid trunk NOT A PARTS CAR. It sat for 8 years and the vinyl top held water and has some areas that need patching around the glass but its no big deal. I got the 318 running yesterday and ordered some new carpet for it so I'll probably drive it like it is for the summer then pull the 318 out, stuff a 440 in and make it a GTX.
