France is coming to say Hello :)

Post by Choucroute » Sat Mar 24, 2012 5:09 pm

Hi, my name is Didier and I'm 41. Sorry for my poor english, i'm french.

First, i'd like to thank you all for this board. I looked your threads very often for years and dreamed of a 71 Roadrunner...and now, the dream becomes reality.

I live near the german border (where there are roads without speed limits :D ). I bought a 71 Roadrunner a few days ago. She's still in California and will be shipped in a couple of days.
Its a clone with a 383 and a 4 speed trans. I'm very impatient.
Here are some pics :

More pics when she arrives ;)

See you soon ;)

Hope you have fun with your new Roadrunner! Your english is great. I wish I could write and talk a second language. I got to travel to Paris on a long weekend from England way back when I was in the Air Force. Beautiful country. Hope to make it back there sometime in the future with my wife. Maybe see the Tour de France. Good luck with your new ride!
Scott.

Hi guys ;)

Thanks for your greetings ;) My english is not so bad but I don't practice much since à came back to France. I lived for a time in England ;)

Basically, it's a Satellite 71 with a 383 and a with manual transmission. She will be shipped in a couple of days to France. I don't have much more information about her. All I know is that she's got power brakes with discs at the front, limited splip 3.23 rear end, and 3' exhaust with very (very) small mufflers....
Here are some photos in Los Angeles yesterday :

I'm very impatient. More pics as soon as she arrives ;)

BE CAREFUL if you plan to "open her up" on the no limit roads. I had a 71 Runner in 71. 383 / 727 turning 323's in the rear. It gets very light in the front on top end... I hear the front spoilers will help bring it back down. Nice car... You will love it...
If River Boats were a dime a dozen............
All I could do is run up and down the bank hollering "Ain't that cheap."

Nice... My Road Runner is now a lot different as before. I'm since 1,5 years on the 4th and last phase of my project with the Road Runner. Now he has a lot of more mods.... a new stroker-engine, complete cleaned engine-bay, keisler A41 4-speed automatic-trans, 14" brakes with 6-piston calipers, cleaned and painted bumpers, new interior, and much more...

I hope now to finish all the works in approx. 2-3 months...then i post all the pics of the works.

Yep, i hope too we will meet us one day...
