Curious Yellow Runner
Looks like I am going to start a little work on the Runner.
This will be a VERY SLOOOW process.
If this is not the correct area to post please let me know!
My game plan is to clean and detail small parts and sub assemblies with the limited time and funds available.
So far I have started on the horn and air grabber.
Noticed after cleaning the bolt for the horn is gold cad and not black phos like normal. Maybe replaced at some time but looks original.
After cleaning and testing, it works. I refinished it and just got a new decal.
Here are a few pictures, finished pictures soon.

Did a little disassembly on the front end and interior.
Also detailed a few small parts.
Here are a few more pictures.
Also took some reference pictures for reassembly, I know I won't remember this stuff if I don't.

Hey Dave,
Could you please let us know what method/products you used to redo your interior hard plastics?
Thanks, Scott.

Re: Curious Yellow Runner
In my area we have been changed to water borne paint. So I wanted to try a new process using this product.
The benefits of water based paint is it covers really well and leaves a very thin surface after it drys.
I used PPG waterborne cleaner and gray scratch pad to clean the surface.
It cleaned the aged plastic very well.
Then mixed the ECH paint according to the directions, sprayed two coats and let dry.
They came out well.
The mixing is a little different than most interior product though.
If you use any of the other interior dyes I would still use the "OH SO CLEAN "cleaner that PPG sells. It cleaned and prepared the plastic better than any product I have used in the past.

Here are a few pictures after dash removal. The mouse Hilton is now out of business.
Found some numbers on valve covers also.

Just wait until you break open your heater/air conditioning box. That was the penthouse for the little critters in my car.

Re: Curious Yellow Runner
Got the body stripped of most parts and some metal removed.
Ordered all the replacement metal, hope it arrives soon.
Next step will be removing the remainder of the parts and get body stripped of paint.
