Hope someone else with an Air grabber can post a picture to see if they made a running change to the hoods at some point.
I'll see if I can locate some more pictures to narrow this down some.

Question on the horn decal.Does anybody have a picture that they know is of a original untouched horn? We didn't put one on my horn because it didn't have one and it looks like it sit's different than the older cars, and you couldn't see anyway,or mabe mine is just mounted wrong.

I had never noticed the hood not being notched out so I had to check my hood. Mine is the original, car built in St.Louis, September of '70. clearly not notched out

Check out the picture on page 1 of the unrestored original. It is a little hard to see but you can see the factory decal placement on it.

My June/July '72 St. Louis built car has no sign of a sticker.
I always assumed it was 'cause it didn't show.
Would love to hear from other '72 owners to get a consensus on this!

Maybe they changed the hood stamping when they changed the number of crash impact ribs?

I'm going to guess it was a change made shortly after production started at some point.
Anyway here is the finished pictures of the Sat hood conversion.
All metal cutting and welding is done.
I am going to leave the cut out as it is, I like the idea of better access to the hood safety when opening it.
Some dressing of the holes and of course prepping for paint needs done but overall I think it came out well.

Was there a stamped brace that ran through the middle of the satellite hood? If there was I might need it to repair my RR which was cut for aircleaner clearance

Great Thanks Dave!

Can somebody post up some pics of the underside (without hood pad) of a 71-72 RR hood and a 71-72 Satellite hood so that I can make sure the center brace between the scoops is the same on both hoods?
