Next, the drivers side - I started cleaning up the area where the half quarter was attached at the front.

Looks like quite a bit of work involved to make that disappear.
So before I jump in to do that I think I will ask the guy who will be doing the body and paint on how to proceed.
In the meantime.......no matter how much I tried to protect the headliner when doing the blasting, the crap still got into it.
So, out it came....

Along with the insulation pieces that had glass bead in it.

The next thing - remove the rear glass.
Now you see it....

Finally with the rear glass being out I was able to remove the steel panel that was on top of the rear parcel shelf.

When this car was a drag car & had a trunk mounted battery, per safety rules the trunk are has to be isolated from the interior of the car so that panel was put there. another panel was installed between where the back goes and rear seat X brace. I'm going to leave it there, as it be a good area to place sound deadner on before the rear seat is installed.
Here is the rear parcel shelf.

So I was able to get the guy who will be doing the body and paint to come over and look at the car.
He said that he will change the quarters along with the outer wheel housings.
I said "good" .... so that changes what I have to do.
I will now be getting the car ready to go to his shop which will be sometime at the end of spring and into summer this year.
My list of stuff to do includes putting epoxy on the underside of the roof.
Put a final epoxy coat on the floor.
Pull the rear end and suspension out and the front K-member too and put the car on dolly wheels (which I have).
So 2 weeks ago we had a terrible snowstorm up here.
Then last weekend we had bitter cold temps, I wasn't able to get any time in to work on her.
So today the temps rose above the freezing mark (10* Celsius) so I got some time in.
I started stripping the underside of the roof.
Here's the before shot.

And now some progress shots.

I just have the rear-most panel left to do. That will be for next weekends work.

What did you use to strip it? Soon, she'll be getting her new "prom dress". I was there as well.

I used 2 different power tools.
First I used this rubber bristle disc to remove the hard contact cement glue that was on there.

Then I went over it with this fiber wheel.
Cleans it up real nice with no heat to the metal.

Thanks rr6pak,
Yesterday I put down the final coat of epoxy primer on the whole inside of the Runner.
I'm happy with the way it turned out.
The next step.....to remove the front and rear suspension and get her on dolly wheels.

Now with no more grinding or sanding required by me, it's time to clean up the shop.
I took down all of the 6mil poly plastic that I had on the walls and dividing the shop in half.
It looks much bigger now.

But of course looking at the other side of the shop - that's where all the other stuff is piled up......sheesh

So now the next step is to remove the front & rear suspensions and get the car on dolly wheels.
