More grunting and groaning today as I installed the leaf springs.
I used the Mopar performance 3/4" offset front hanger and offset rear shackles.
The ones that were on the car when I bought it were homemade ones as this car was a drag car in a previous life, but was not tubbed.

While waiting for bits and pieces to come in I got a chance to sandblast the rear bumper mounts.
My neighbor has an industrial sand blaster in his shop & he allowed me to use it.
I can't believe it took nearly 2 hours to blast them....
Here they are just about to be blasted.

Looking closely at the mounts, they have some stampings on them.
Good to see that they are stamped "L" and "R"

While the primer was curing I started on the tail light housings.
First I stripped the gaskets and the sealer holding the gaskets on.

Before painting I did check that the wiring and the bulb sockets were okay, which they were.

I must note that these housings were not the ones that came off the car.
I bought these at a Mopar swapmeet some time ago.
Someone took the time to paint the outsides of the housings with grey paint....good job.
The originals were really bad and one of them the housing was cracked....

So after the first coat of reflective aluminum paint...

Now that the tail light housings are painted, it's time to fit the LED light bulbs.

Very cool. I plan to do the same thing. I might have to replace my sockets in my housings first tho. Let us know what the part numbers are on the bulbs - looks like a shorter one for the reverse lights? You need to slow down - you are getting too far ahead of me...
