Got in the shop this morning - the paint is almost dry.
Still tacky in a few places.
Here's what semi-gloss black looks like.

Next thing to clean-up is the upper and lower control arms & strut rods.

Thanks 73X.
Next step is do paint the control arms. The current aluminum color that's on them need some freshening up.
I scuffed them down and applied a light grey paint to them.

Future plans call for changing the upper arms for some tubular ones.

Moving along, the strut rods are next.
Scuff em down and paint them with a nice steel color VHT caliper paint.
Also put new stainless hardware on the ends.

Now its on to prepping the steering components.
Scuff them down with my fiber wheel.
Wash them up with lacquer thinner & do some masking too.

I'll do 2 coats of primer followed by the same VHT caliper steel colored caliper paint.

I did remove the old hardware that was on the tie-rod sleeve clamps.

Instead I bought these.

I also got around to applying actual cosmoline coating to the control arms just to bring back some of the amber color.
This stuff goes on wet and dries to a dry type of wax finish.

Finally I was able to put the rain gutter trim back on the car.
Problem with a white car is that stainless trim doesn't pop out as much compared to if it was painted a darker color.

Thanks 73X - I'm liking it more & more every time I see it.

So I finally was able to get the tailstock on my 4 speed changed.
If you remember the shifter box mounting holes were damaged when I bought the 4 speed.

So, after ordering the correct gasket kit from Brewers I took the 4 speed to my good buddy Kevin's place to get it switched.

Here it is on the bench ready to go back together again.

My buddy who assembled my engine, Brad came over yesterday and degreed the new Isky cam.
It was installed straight up as it already has 4 degrees of advance ground into it.

Probably due to the fact the mounting surface was not flat...you can see the reinforcement plates and the screw heads are not flush.
