Found something interesting

Post by Smellslike1974 » Thu Feb 17, 2011 1:55 pm

So I'm sitting In my car and decided to open the glove box.I'm looking through It and this was pinned against the inside of the box.Its the size of a generic trading card,to me It looks like a small magazine cover example.Maybe you got these with each issue of the real mag??..what ever It Is Its really cool and In very good condition.(Ironic too  )Shows how much Ive been In my glove box since Ive had the car.

Ive been searching online and found some info about It.CARtoons was a comic magazine from the 50s to 90s.I know about that but I have been trying to find out the deal of this car.Printed on It Is the cover of the last issue of CARtoons produced In 84.I found some links, saw some pictures,I even emailed one of the artist from CARtoons before the 80s.He has no clue what this Is.He told me to post In the facebook group.I did and they don't even know.I put the sucker in a protective card case.lol.May take it to my local collectibles store and watch the guy make a funny face when i show it to him.

That used to be my favorite magazine before I could drive real cars. Krass & Bernie were the best.

I bet Bruce will have something to say about it!

No clue what the little cover replica is though. (scratches head)

I finally had a breakthrough of information.Turns out a company called "Muscle Machines" made toy die cast cars using CARtoons Magazines covers. They chose 6 covers and made the vehicles shown as a real toy car.Behind these toy cars in the packaging were these trading cards showing the cover of an issue of CARtoons.

Wish i had the car this card belonged to.
