Road Runner Nest

I just recently bought a NOS drivers side door skin for a 71/72 RR....I contacted AMD and asked if they had interest in using this NOS part for a mock up so they can start repopping this much needed part...They replied today with the bad news....We at AMD have no plans on reproducing those door skins for that year/model car...If something changes they will contact me..
Well that just sucks!!!!!!!
With all the stuff they repop you would think this would be a hot seller..I guess if they get enough heat from the people that need these then maybe WE can change thier minds??

Wow, from what I have seen with the '71-2 cars, the doors are almost always rotted and are very hard to find in staright, rust-free condition! Can't believe they aren't taking on the project.

In this economy I'm not surprised they're not risking further investment in making products that have a limited market. Sad but true...

Really scary part came at Carlisle whan I spoke to an AMD dealer..He said that the Mopar market was so small they are looking at dropping it and concentrating on Ford and GM....If there are AMD parts you guys need I would start hoarding them soon...I sure hope that is not true but whay take a chance..??

Doesn't surprise me to hear that. Doesn't make me HAPPY, but doesn't surprise me...

Isn't the mopar market small to begin with?

Just think how many cars are saved when people start reproducing parts.The hunting for parts cars would go down and there would be more.

Hang tight...the RR and Charger skins may be in the works. I'm pushing...

Let's just say Gary (G-Series) was VERY involved in the development of AMD's quarter panels for our cars--rear valance too if I'm not mistaken.

I've got both the Charger and RR skin ready to send to them. I believe it will happen. If it does, should have skins this Summer. Keep yours until I start seeing samples. I'll post when I do. Front and rear valances are in production.

Best news I have heard in a while..I will keep my NOS skin boxed up and ready if needed...Glad to help..

I ordered an outer wheelhouse about 2 months ago...He told me I got the second set AMD had.. At that time they told me the front valance was a "ANY DAY NOW" thing!! Im on a list to get one and patiently waiting...My rear valance is in minty shape which surprised me.. It will be nice to FINALLY see some progress for the 71/72 crowd...We have waited waaayyy too long...

With the corrections I requested, they would have been done when they said, but that final sample needed one more additional tweak. It'll be worth the wait.

Just letting you guys know, 71-2 RR skins and 71 Charger, plain, R/T and 72 Rallye skins in the works. This is happening.
