My '71 GTX project happens to be a pretty straight and clean original metal car, however, it had it's share of rodents living it during it 27 years of storage in Northern Virginia

The rodents decided to make nests in the corners of the trunklid and their acidic urine sure made a mess of the lid, check out the rot!

I figured it would be easy enought to find a nice replacement, but not so... After attending the two biggest Mopar shows this season at Carlisle and the Nats and after looking at maybe 20 lids, most were '72-up and only three were for the '71 model year! I ended up scoring two of them at the Mopar Nats and kept the best one for my car which was still in its original coat of GF7 green

Since the X is an original A45 spoiler package car, I really wanted to have the right lid. The scariest part was when I had to measure and drill the four holes in the new lid
Measure twice, drill once

And here is how it turned out, not too bad. I can't wait to get this car in paint now
