I finally got a reply back from lunati and they said that If i wasn't sure of the stock retainers with their springs i should get the correct ones for the application.Whether that's them just telling me to buy their product or if its useful and correct information I'm getting the retainers. It will make me feel better. Thanks for everyone's input.

I officially gave myself a deadline-November.

Specifically November 6th ,which Is a huge car show that I want to cruise to.(so my real deadline is maybe a week earlier that way I know its road worthy for the long drive)
I have thought about this up and down and what I am gonna do Is get the engine running perfect and do the patching that's left to the body. You ask why this is so different of a plan.....because my car will not have a,headliner, rug, body work areas will most likely be primer because I cant paint the car until I get the decals. So yes It may look ugly but as long as Its running, drivable, enjoyable who cares. The stuff like headliner and rug is stuff i could get,but i have ideas for all that just cant do them within the amount of time.

btw I'm ordering more engine parts, replacing all bearings and getting new rings.

Well all I have to do Is lift up the crankshaft and my 318 will basically be a bare block.

You should do a medium sized custom flat air cleaner lid with a large Sundance graphic on it...(course you'd want to retain the lid in some other way than a center stud) That'd be the icing on the cake..

Looks good! :-)

ahahaha thats a good idea.i already had an idea of making a custom fiberglass piece that would sit flush with the hoods functioning vents, but that's a long term idea that will be a lot of work.Your idea would be totally easier.

Well I woke up super early to beat the heat.My dad has a friend who is a machinist (and a mopar fan) so he measured everything,it all measured to the engines specifications so I was happy to hear that.So I can order all my bearings and piston rings when i get the cash.I gotta polish the crankshaft,Then its engine rebuild time.During all of this nonsense i have been getting all my other stuff sort of situated like timing cover, intake, valve covers,cleaning/painting.I still have to take apart the 400 carb to see what condition Its in.

I'm learning,understanding,spending..

my piston rings gaskets sets, and all of the engine bearings are on their way.

Before I can really use them I need to do the crank and ream the ridge in the cylinders. The reamer we have Is un even.

Looks very nice man, we all dont have money to buy new fenders /quarters/patch peices. I did the exact place on my front left fender but had a lower peice bought back in the 80's.rocker/rear quarter was also done. She'll look great when your finished :)
