You got my attention. I don't subscribe to that magazine but will have to pick up a copy. Will you have it in Columbus?

Not sure...current plan is to bring the SRT-71 to Indy's booth, but if that doesn't pan out, it'll be the Jet at Keisler's.

AWESOME!!! I wondered what an AAR Cuda-style hood would look like on our cars and it is, as i thought, amazing. Is that basically what you did - molded an AAR scoop to a flat hood? Looks amazing - i'll have to go buy one - guess i'm about due for my once-every-few year purchase

Thanks guys. It's a repro AAR hood. The way to do it is to modify the header panel by using the front 3/4 of the RR header and weld it to the rear 1/4 of a barracuda header. You have to lift up on the part near the hood because the AAR/Cuda hood has a slight peak, not only front to back, but upward toward the sky. This car combines cues from the 68 photo and the 69 photo. (68 was for the 71, and the 69 for the 72). Some of the cues were rather crudely done(in clay), so Pam and I took some artistic license and cleaned them up a bit; to what we thought would have ultimately been produced. You have to look at the Cuda for some help there. Btw, we used A4 silver; Herlitz designed the car with the F4 fighter in mind; the A4 gives that military fighter jet look-hence the Jet X name.

Can you post the pictures of those clay model mock-ups.
I've seen the 72 mock-up photo in MCG and on display in the Steve Juliano collection but I've never seen the 71 mock up.

Yes to Carlisle="T" bldg and maybe, but doubtful, for the Nats. Note the recalls and quarter vents. Dated 9/11/68. Thank Eric for finding/providing us the pic.

My pleasure. I'd been thinking about putting recall wheels on the butterscotch car ever since I found that factory photo, just never got around to it. They really look good with the 71/72 body.
So you just couldn't keep this one under wraps till Carlisle huh Gary  Can't wait to see it in person. See ya at Carlisle.

My copy of MA came in the mail today. The Jet-X looks good, but your tires are a little dirty.
Looks like I need to change my name to Juliano though!

LET IT BE KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE KINGDOM OF THE NEST...THEY F'd THAT PART UP. I WAS NOT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROOF READ THE ARTICLE. YES I'M YELLING BECAUSE CREDIT SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THOSE THAT DESERVE IT...AND THAT'S ERIC. You still love me? Btw, that 'dirty' tire look is intentional to replicate the Goodyear 'bluestreak' vintage racing tires...as if the car was found in a barn :stirpot:

I though you maybe that was your interpretation of the dirt on the tires of the 72 prototype.....or maybe someone who owns a watermellon threw dirt on them at the photoshoot when you weren't looking.
