I didn't know there was a 71340 RR..... :?

..oooh it's a sunroof car. Those are rare!...nah, too bad someone butchered the roof to put that in.
It doesn't look llike it was Lemon Twist as stated...Looks like the 71 Curious Yellow.

Export car? is what the VIN decoders said..

Are there many 71 340 RRs?

The 340 was available most of the model year. IF the car was originally lemon twist it would be somewhat rare, otherwise nothing out of the ordinary that I can see. There is no way to tell from the VIN whether it's an export car or not......could from the fender tag.

I'm tinkering on my 71 340 car, RM23H1. I don't think it carries additional value, I just like it due to being a small block fanatic. My current project is green poly, parted out a yellow 71 340 some years ago and have seen others. Don't know of any factory 340 A/G cars but have seen a few around. Possible OE, aftermarket or add on but they look good. I wouldn't mind one but don't have 2K to build an A/G car.

Stuff like that happened? Was It just engines,or was other things like accessories put on cars that weren't In the brochures.

So does this mean unless you personally ordered a 71 Road Runner back then, that's the only way you would get a 340?No buying a 71 340 RR In a car lot anywhere?

I love this kind of stuff! :D

i don't know if was other things that weren't In the brochures...but the 340 wasn't there...

originally the 340 was no planned for B-body's, but in the middle of 1971 he decides to offer the 340 HP as option for the road runner (code E55)...! less wheight combined with a 340 HP showed more power and better handling as a 383...

You could have found them on the new car lots. The availibility wasn't announced till after the 71 brochures were released. Earliest 340 car I have on record was built October 70, but I don't know exactly when it became available.

The 340 was a down grade from the stock 383. I could never figure out why people wanted a smaller motor? It sure wasn't the gas prices.

idk i think the 340 would run close to, or maybe even with a 383 since you're saving probably 150 pounds, plus the 340 revs quicker and higher than a big block
