So what is your opinion on these ?
Check out these louvers on ebay. Are these even close to the originals ? Dave.

Those are nothing like the originals (which are being reproduced BTW... EXPENSIVE).
Those are JC Whitney specials... although they might look okay on a car, just not factory original.

Cool aftermarket louvers...not close to orig, but I like them. It's good that they are stick on, though I've always been wary of glue on louvers...I always thought they'd fly off. If they were cheaper, I think it'd be neat to have a set. Don't know which car I'd use them on.

Re: So what is your opinion on these ?
I think they're nifty, but I have never seen them on a B-Body. My dad has a set of super-expensive ones for his Challenger, I know he paid a fortune for them. Except I believe the Challenger/Barracuda ones were aluminum.
As for the cost of these reproduction ones, it seems like a good deal. As for quality, of course I couldn't say as I don't own a set. Maybe for $400 bucks I'd try them.

This seems to be what I've been looking for all this time; can't really afford the $1500 price of the repop ones. These seem contoured to the rear window, so they probably looks better than any J.C. Whitney universals. Anyone know who actually manufacturers these; maybe they can be had for cheaper somewhere?

Re: So what is your opinion on these ?
Cheaper, eh? You asked for it, you got it. Found this little gem! They may or may not be the same thing as the E-bay ones mentioned above, but at least one picture looks suspiciously similar. The E-bay seller acts like he is having them manufacturered, but I'm not sure if I buy it. Do that many different people really make louvers to fit late-model B-bodies? Anyway, at $239.99 with $20 instant discount online AND free shipping and "lowest price guarantee" these are quite the steal! The E-bay guy wants $88 shipping, Ouch! The only thing that scares me is the "1970-1974 Road Runner" clause. Yeah, we all know how similar the 1970 rear window is to ours... Why not include the '68-69 or even Charger at that point?
Anyway, here's the link!

P.S. I think I'm gonna go ahead and order them and give you guys all an update on fit (presuming I don't find something cheaper in the interim). Not that I mind if they look stock (I got opaque plexiglass covering my headlamps after all), I just want to see how they fit. Oh, and I'm used to random cheap parts flying off at freeway speeds...

Okay, I'm convinced they are the same. After further research it appears Spoilers4Less also makes Challenger louvers (it has a better picture) and the pattern and number of louvers seem to match the "cheap" E-bay ones exactly. Hahaha... Someone's cashing in on people's ignorance with phrases such as "managed to get ahold of the old moulds", etc. Yeah, right.

old molds from the 80s
i really wanted to get louvers on my car - in fact, before they were being re-popped, i wanted to find a set of old JCW specials, but couldn't anywhere...now i'm not so sure...might help cut down on some of the light coming in (too used to tinted windows now and old cars + window tint = NO!)

Re: So what is your opinion on these ?
I kinda like a dated look to some of my cars..meaning period correct type of trendy accesories..as long as there is no permanant alterations of the body that cannot easily be reversed...That's why I'd like to have a set. If my car(s) were a little further along, and I did not have to allocate funds to needed repairs, I'd be all over a set of these because, when they're gone again, you probably won't see them for a while....heck, I may just be talking myself into a set..LOL

Re: So what is your opinion on these ?
Yeah, I'm not too sure about that either...But here's my eyebrow-raising question. The E-bay seller acts like he is having them manufacturered, but I'm not sure if I buy it.
Mr. Ebay says: (Direct Quote) "...PLYMOUTH ROADRUNNER REAR WINDOW LOUVERS WITH STAINLESS HINGES AND MOUNTING HARDWARE..."
While Mr. Spoilers4Less says little about mounting hardware, also bonded with foam 3M tape. So, I don't know what "easy removal for cleaning" means...Unless it's an implication of hinges.
So I guess I'd have to find out...Would the Spoilers4Less one come with mounting hardware for hinged access? I don't want to imagine cleaning a window with permanent louvers.
