Got my 71 RR home today

Post by 72 RR fan » Sat Apr 11, 2009 8:33 pm

I look forward to using this as my driver while I'm restoring my 72. I love it. Took it for a ride around the block today, then prepared a spot for it under the deck. It runs well. I am going to freshen up the brakes and the front end. I think that the clutch is a little weak. It is very presentable, but needs a freshening resto. I can do that as I'm driving it. When my 72 is done, heck it may get the full out resto then.

Cool color combo... and a four speed... I might have to buy that off you someday.

Ooh, pretty! Does it have drums or discs in the front?
Regardless, it's awesome either way...Nice!

[Gasp], and do I spy a vinyl top? Wooowee!

pretty basic on the mechanical end...no a/c, no p/s, no p/b, brakes are drum...
I really like the lack of it all too...my 72 has most everyhting opposite, even cosmeticly, so this is a great complimentary car.

I can't wait to start a mild freshening to make it my driver. I sold my vintage van yesterday :( to help clear the slate and to allocate funds. I'm sure that I'll have a number of questions as I go along.

Thanks everyone for the kind words... :)

That's cool! I don't have a/c or p/s either. Which I certainly don't mind. Only thing with mine is...I do have power brakes...Which I can't really take advantage of them with the cam I have. Even with a vacuum reserve tank, I best have to put it in neutral and rev it up to stop, or it's both feet on the brake pedal. Urrrph.
