New Road Runner in the neighborhood

Double77's Road Runner has found a new home.

My buddy bought it and towed it home about a week ago. I finally got a chance to go check it out today. Unfortunately, we were dodging rain showers, so no test drive. :(

Anyway, it looks to be real nice car, and suit my buddy very well.

The car does have a couple of minor issues:
  • It's currently got a double pumper on it with no choke. That's overkill, and not real street friendly in addition to just making it hard to start. I've got a vacuum secondary carb we'll probably put on there.
  • It's also got a drum brake master cylinder, which needs to get swapped. I fear of running out of pedal travel.
  • For some reason the oil pan is darn near resting on the center link. Looks like a C-body oil pan. Not sure if this is the root cause, or something with the motor or transmission mounts. We need to take a closer look.
  • We're already talking about a winter project of pulling the motor and repainting it the correct hue, as well as fixing some other details. For the life of me I can't figure out why someone didn't invest in a couple of cans of Hemi Orange before dropping the motor in. :?
I'm trying to talk him into installing an Air Grabber set-up, which would make the car absolutely sinister. 8)

I narrowly missed purchasing this car last year. Double77 nabbed it before I could even contact the seller though. Ironic that it ends up in my buddy's garage just up the road after a detour to Florida.

I like the way that car looks.
I saved a picture of it when it was listed.
    Congrats to your friend.
