Self-defense/protection in our cars?

Post by Smellslike1974 » Fri Feb 20, 2009 12:10 am

I have been thinking a lot about when my car will be done and I thought about having some sort of "tool" of self protection with me In my car at all times.I'm not sure what It will be and I'm not totally sure yet whats legal In my state.I know Id feel safer If I had something just In case like If someone tried taking my car or any other situations where I had to defend myself or my car.I hope It never happens because I don't want to hurt anybody, but then again I don't anyone trying to hurt me,or more importantly my car.I always have a multitool when I'm around my car,but something like that Isn't really convient, especially If I needed It fast.I also thought of something that wouldn't necessarily defend me but make my car undrivable and unstealable, like a secret kill switch that when hit would turn everything off and wouldn't let anything be turned on again until the switch was turned back. This type of Idea I am leaning towards more.As much as I want to protect myself I don't want a serious weapon being in my possession.I googled this matter and found that a lot of people were saying that the best weapon Is your body. That could be true but,not all of us can move like Chuck Norris.

So does anyone have any Ideas of what I could have In my car?Or anything related to self protection when in my car?(I know since we are from different states not everything will be legal to each other.)It may sound odd an extreme this Idea but I don't feel comfortable with the people around where I live these days.It would be really awesome to have an officer on here,I'm sure they would be familiar with this type of thing and could really help out.

Thanks ahead of time!

A great weapon for your car is your solid mast antenna, minus the little ball on the end, it makes a hell of a whip. You could keep it right next to your seat and no one would be the wiser. Not as cool as a smith and what's his name, but trust me it can be effective. Stun gun, pepper spray, bat, 1/2 inch craftsman torque wrench, mag light, big screw driver, pasload framing nailer, it's a long list. Another good weapon is defensive drivers course along with a 4 speed and a big block.

I knew a guy who had a fairly heavy baton that had a high power spring loaded telescoping action that would put it through thick plate glass if needed. In compact form it didn't take up hardly any space at all and I doubt it violates many local ordinances. Extended, it was a weighted baton.

this has to be the coolest tread ever hahaha..

i knwo when my car is ready im putting the biggest bat in it haha...... but the best is what you got a baton.... or what we call it a "knight stick". i have one, once you swing it, it because the right size, but before that its all in the handle and ya lol.

but you see, my car when im done i wouldnt be abel to park it anywhere out of my sight.. liek let say i have to go to the moives, i woudlnt be able just to park the muscle car there and thats it...... god knwos what will happen, people are so jelous they just have the htrill of scrathing it,, people looking into the windows... you never knwo if there jacket zipper scracthes the paint while the lean or any stupidity liek that.... so ya my car wont be a car t odo anythgi you want... i gotta make sure what im doing before i go outwiht the car.

and another story is... my father when he had his 72 orange roadrunner, he had nunchakus in the glove departement, andd when he got stopped they searched the car AND found them,, he spent a night in jail just for havign that as a weapon in his car.... crazyyyy ehhh.

I CANT WAIT TO GET MY BABY ON THE ROAD.

My mother raised a Bobcat from a cub, she would leave it in the car. No one ever messed with her car, even wither her purse open in the front seat. The cats name was Bobby.

Ha ha ha.That movies classic.

So I'm waiting for the "thing" I ordered.Lets say what I ordered Is Illegal to have In New Jersey, well In a car at least. And I get pulled over for some reason, and the officer asks If I have any weapons.I say yes,I have a baton under my dash that I keep for self protection.(Sometimes I have to protect myself from myself, ,no I wont tell the officer that joke.)So the officer checks my record and Its clean. You think I would get away with a warning? If Its Illegal I tell him I didn't know because honestly as of now I have no clue.I really don't see the point in punishing someone or fining them because they have a weapon that isn't a gun in there car.I mean If their record has no past felonies or Incidents Involving the issue concerned about I think they should let It slide.

If I had a truck Id have a piece of lumber in the bed like In the movie Walking Tall,ha ha ha.

The bobcat wins the thread, IMO.

I currently have a 500,000 volt baton in my Mazda. Never had to use it, but I've had a couple of guys walk up on me while in the car and give me a hard time. I don't know what it is about me... :D
