Warning - Bad eBay Seller

Post by billzilla » Sun Feb 01, 2009 1:33 am

I bought these sail panels from 'fastgirl505' on eBay on the 11th:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... &viewitem=

She had a few recent negatives but I thought it would be OK.

I got notice a shipping label was printed on the 12th but after over a week (the following Monday was a holiday - a week from the date the label was printed) I emailed her asking when the ship date was. I was polite and to the point and she was rather snippy, finally claiming she'd shipped it on the 12th. I received the box on 23rd. A little long even for Parcel Post from MI to CA, but I thanked her and left positive feedback. She thanked me as well (she had already left positive feedback). I figured that was that.

Until last night, that is, when she filed an UNPAID ITEM claim against me..! I responded to the claim citing my payment info - then fired off an email to her asking why she had filed this unpaid item claim... Lo and behold, not two hours later eBay lets me know I have an Unpaid Item Strike - that she 'closed' the case and that was that?!

I called eBay and after giving them my transaction ID from Paypal, they pulled the strike. The woman has not yet replied at all. I guess she was pissed I had dared to question her about the ship date even though she got positive feedback and decided she'd try to hose me by lying about a lack of payment. The annoying thing about that is that eBay was going to let her get away with it - despite their owning Paypal and the two systems being linked. Had I not called, I'd have had a Strike against my account.

My suggestion is to NOT do business with this dealer of repro Mopar parts. She has SEVERAL negatives in recent months claiming she tries to charge shipping after listing items with 'free shipping'... I tend to believe those accounts at this point.

She responded twice to me asking why she tried to get the Unpaid Strike filed against me:

Email 1: "I did no such thing."
Email 2: "I do not understand any problem.? I gave no stupid strike."

Definitely something screwy with this person.

Guess I was lucky. I've bought two headliners from her in the last two months and had no problems.

I get these unpaid strike emails all the time. They do not come from ebay. They are a phishing scam to get your ebay and paypal information. If you answered any of these you need to go to ebay and change your password and other important info right now before its to late.

Thanks...for the good words

As far as this ebay seller goes, I have had 2 customers mention the same problems with her style.
As far as price goes, I would need to purchase a few sets to ship out to customers if you want them at the same price she sells them or I might even be able to go a little cheaper, don't know until I ask the manufacture.
If you need the plain uncovered panels they would be even cheaper.... :D

These weren't phishing emails - they came from eBay and I got the notice in my eBay inbox on their actual website. I called them and talked to a person AT eBay to get it taken off (and they confirmed that yes, she had lodged the strike). The woman flatly denied it all and was rude and weird in her email replies, so either she's off her rocker or someone is messing with her account.

As a rule, I never reply to any email claiming to be from eBay that asks for my password or takes me to a login link. I only respond on eBay itself.
