Anybody have some insight on this car?
http://www.volocars.com/1972-plymouth-r ... -c-799.htm
I've got a friend that is very interested in it. He and I have both been in contact with the owner. Sounds like a very nice car, albeit seemingly a bit overpriced IMHO.
I remember seeing this car for sale out of Michigan a few years ago, which is when/where the current owner purchased it. It carried a real strong price at that time as well. I know the motor has since been rebuilt.
Anyway, we are contemplating a road trip to go check it out. I'd be real interested in hearing from anyone that has seen this car in person. It's been on the market for quite a while, and I'm hoping that's due to the price and not some other major flaw.

looks like an extremely nice car - almost looks fake in a few pictures it looks so good
i definitely can't afford a 35K roadrunner, but i'd much rather buy that car than spend 35k on a new mustang, challenger, or even more on a vette
that's just about the dream car you were looking for too isn't it - just missing the air grabber

Yeah. If it were a factory N96 car, I'd be out selling plasma right now. I
WILL have one some day.
Trying to stay focused on the Cuda right now, but these darn 71/72 B-bodies are a constant distraction. There are a couple on the market right now that I'd love to have. Maybe in 2009 my fortunes will improve and I'll be able to finish the Cuda and add to my fleet as well.

I didn't know spoilers were called "fear wings"?
Beautiful over restored car.
Why put front and rear spoilers on a 1972 RR?
Wrong center caps for 1972 rallye rims.
Strobe stripe is WAY too far back on the c-pillar.
There should be black out behind the grill.
Why no picture of a fender tag, build sheet, engine stamp, trans stamp or radiator crossmember stamp ... especially on such a high-dollar car.
I would love to own.
Volo in know for asking for the moon for their cars.

I've got a fuzzy pic of the fender tag... somewhere... but here are the codes.
R11 END
G35 M21 M31 N23 N41 P31
V4W U 22 B51 C16 C56
FE5 D6XW EW1 C03 2800011
E55 D21 RM23 H2R 195808
The spoilers look good. It's hard for me to argue against installing them. Those Rallyes would get swapped out in a hurry, so the caps aren't a concern. Hadn't noticed the stripe placement, but I did notice the rad support needing blacked out. We'll be checking all the stampings.
Heading out early tomorrow to see the car, and we'll be back late. I'll post an update on Saturday.

R11 is AM radio not the AM/FM installed ... but hey, I upgraded my original AM to a AM/FM also.
V4W is white canopy vinyl top not on this car and no code for strobe stripe or bright tip exhaust either.
Now, I would upgrade to adding stripes and tips ... etc too.
But Volo doesn't really care about original cars, just getting lots of money for their cars ... hey, it's the American way.
Again ... it's a BEAUTIFUL car ... just not exactly the way Ma Mopar made her if that even matters (maybe if they are asking a premium price).

I had noticed those deviationsfrom the fender tag as well.
For the record, this is not Volo's car. It is being sold on consignment.

Beautiful car too ....
It was originally a black bench seat car (4-speed location) not a orange/black bucket seat car.
Question ... were early build 71's built with 70 style wings? I know lots of people put 70 wings on 71 car because their cheaper to buy but did Ma Mopat use up old stock?
BTW, I want this car ... it was built on my birthday (and it looks alot like my 72 RR).

Why is it that almost all of the "professionally restored" mopars I see, never have the rad support painted black??!! It seems to me that this fact is well documented in a number of resto books, mags, etc...

Depends on the body color ... light body colors got black out paint, darker colors did not.

things wrong with that 72 rr
1 the decal on the brake booster is wrong
2 the charcoal cannister is not there for 72 they all have it
3 it has the wrong voltage regulator
there are painted black behind the grill except for black cars

71 gtx 440 4speed air grabber blue on blue with white vinyl roofOption cassette player

This car is a joke priced at $45k. I didn't look it over real close, but it was definitely NOT a top shelf car. Has a 70 wing on it and the front spoilers are upside down. Numerous goofy details.
