Hi i am new to the forums but not new to 71 road runners. My first one at 17 in 77( car had 340000 miles, still had that newer car smell and a cheech & chong smell as well .Several more followed then the one i bought in 1990.
Not the color i wanted but i got it anyway,Yes that tawny gold. The sound makes some mopar maniacs cringe. The car is a all numbers matching 383 with slapstick, buckets ,power steering, brakes, air, hood signals vinyl top with 87000 miles.None of the big stuff like 440 six etc,So would it hurt the value to paint it like plum crazy. It will always be a driver as my wife really enjoys driving it( she likes plum crazy) but i actually kind of like it now. i created a frappr map called midwest mopars.Feel free to post a photo of your b bodies or whatever mopar you have.Just go to frappr and search for midwest mopars, don' t care where you live just like to see more beautiful b bodies. joe

I took the liberty of copying/pasting your link to the forum here, for quick reference. It might not be a bad thing to either add your link permanently or create a frappr for the Nest.

Nice lines, looks well built and I bet she handles nicely. . ..

now about the car 8)

I love Tawny Gold. . .who cares what other Mopar fanatics think. . .I mean, geez louise. . . but it is a nice car.

Search "pro touring" here on the site and check out THAT tawny gold Road Runner. Then come back and tell us if you still don't like the color. :D

Welcome to the nest. Many of us really like Tawny Gold, in fact, I'd rather see a car in that color than plum crazy. Is that the original color combination (Y4W half vinyl top)? If it were mine, I'd keep the color and only change out the 72 and up wheel centers.
Nice looking car!

I appreciate the replies and comments,More people like that that color than i thought! And eric asked about the vinyl top,the fender tag has gy4 so it is original. It has been a while science i have decoded a tag,Mine also has b11 which i thought was front disk as my first 71 had,This car has power assist manual brakes. I was going to try to upload a photo of tag but was not sure if i was allowed to to that just yet. Some where i have a factory 71 service manual that i will check,Is this correct b11 heavy duty power assisted manual front brakes ?thanks again, joe

B11 is front drum brakes, power assist would be listed as B51. You should be able to upload a photo of your tag here.....let's see it!

thanks for the decode. Some of the decoding sites must have a few mistakes, i really do appreciate you taking the time to do that. What is not clear to me is what designates my vinyl top.The 71 i drove while in high scool had a full top so it was stripe delete but i think it had a metal road runner tag on lower quarter. joe

Joe
Check your email. I sent you the decode along with an explanation that your car did not originally come with a vinyl top.
