Has anyone ever done any business with this company?
http://www.topsecretcoatings.com/automotive_paint.htm
I'm interested in their product, but I'm not real sure they are interested in selling the darn thing despite their website. I e-mailed them 2 weeks ago with a question about color matching and I've not heard a peep out of them yet. That seems like profoundly poor customer service to me.
Anybody have any experience with these guys?

For Pop Secret coatings I recommend butter and salt.
No seriously, it's probably because they don't deal directly with the public and you just have to go through a reseller to buy. They probably don't answer direct questions about their products to end buyers.

Well, I shot them another e-mail yesterday asking for an answer to the original question with the promise that if I didn't hear from them in a week, I'd post my experiences with them on the forums and this is what they said:
David,
I am sorry but I cannot find any evidence of an email from you in the past 60 days. I don’t know what you are painting but it seems to me like you’d be happier buying elsewhere anyway so let’s just call it a day.
Sincerely,
Peter Harrett

Now, if they didn't want the consumer public to contact them, why does their website have a shopping cart, a checkout counter, and a link for customers to contact them that includes a customer service e-mail address?
And I find it absolutely incredible that they couldn't find my oriignal e-mail but absolutely found the e-mail that expressed dissatisfaction with their customer service.
No, I think it's a matter of poor customer service and they took the easy way out. The old "we couldn't find your correspondence" routine is one of the oldest excuses in the books, and I for one would never recommend this company to anyone. AND given that they didn't even try to correct the problem says volumes about their customer service: they don't need our business and evidently they really don't want our business or they would have bent over backwards to correct the situation.
Screw them.

They tell you that they dont want to sell anything to you yet they have the websites link at the bottom of the email.lol
I seeriously think we should string this situation out and have some fun.Nothing illegal just a few emails.
"Hello,I would like to purchase your top secret product for my top secret project. How do i order?,do you call a pay phone and i answer?Do you shine a huge light to the sky and i follow it?Do i give you the payment, and you slowly slide of the goods over to me while sitting on a train station bench?Let me know, thanks.

I stand (well, sit) corrected; I didn't do any investigating beforehand. You're right. Also, I think it's very tacky when a company can't just own up that the customer's always right (especially when he is) and make it right with them. Most consumers would forgive one or two mishaps with a company. Reminds me when I tried to get ranch with my fried mushrooms from Steve's Burgers in Hemet, CA and was told "Lemme ask my manager if Ranch comes with that," and when I said, "No, that's okay, I'll just pay for it," she insisted, and the manager comes out with this attitude and "What's the problem!" tone. Geez... Funny how many companies are willing to just turn their backs and rely on other customers. Maybe they don't realize that customers REALLY DO blacklist companies. I know I've heard bad things about Sherman & Associates so I would never buy from them, same with Jim's Auto Parts, and just like I won't give any money to AutoZone, only Kragen or partsamerica. Some of it is from bad press or in talking in forums, the other is personal experience. I really, really don't get why they don't drop the ego and just make it right with the end customer. Gad...
