lokar cable

Post by hmiller79 » Sat Jul 26, 2008 4:02 pm

Hello,
Has anybody installed a Lokar kickdown cable on their 727? I just finished restoring my car and drove it for the first time today. The transmission shifts fine from 1st to 2nd, but will not shift into 3rd unless I build higher rmp and let off of the gas. I thought a few of you guys may be running the cable and could tell me the proper adjustments. This site has been very helpful since I have started this restoration, so any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

haven't used the lokar cable, but eventually i think it's on the list. my trans was shifting fine, but i think i need to adjust it, as when i went from a standard holley to a double pumper, it's shifting between 2nd and 3rd a lot for no reason really.

maybe you just need to adjust your linkage and you'll be set. i don't know what carb you're running, but it shouldn't be too bad. holley has vids on how to adjust the kickdown
