Road Runner Nest

Since we've had some discussion on the wood grain applications on the dashes, I thought it would be cool to at least post some custom interiors that I've found while surfing the net for ideas. If it helps with custom interior/dash ideas for members of the Nest, then it serves a purpose.

The first one is from Thorson's Custom Interiors. It's a 1970 Dodge Charger with Rallye Dash. I liked this one since it seems to fill the bill for the Roadrunner's designer and his preference for argent instead of the wood grain.




When I find 'em--or when you do--I'll post 'em here so we can learn from other people's work.

I LOVE that interior! Now that gets the gears turning in my head. What would my Tor-Red interior look like IF I was to change it up a little to something like that...HHHHMMMMM?

I also like how he redone the switches for the heater, etc to round knobs, thats neat

hi, just wondering about that interior, that doesn't look like a 70 dodge charger, the dash pad is a 71-74 b-body, kinda wierd, i know when you custom something it ain't supposed to look original, this looks like a 71-74, now the door panels look like a 70, nothing else, am i missing something???

71-74 don't have vent wing windows.

thats def a 74 b body dah,it even as writing of some sort next to the vent like the satellite

that is pretty cool. they just put a 71-4 dash frame in a 70...idk how much work would go into something like that if they aren't the same size.

i love the argent dash - i'm going to do mine, even though it's the sweep style instead of rallye - will still look awesome...and if i ever get a pistol grip shifter for my slapstik, i think i'll paint them argent or bright blue to match the outside

i've seen the seats before in a picture we had at the printing facility i worked at...idk what the car was, but i remember the seats for sure

i painted mine flatblack with the stock silver stripes, i made custom aluminium-rings around the gauges and i add. km/h on the inside of speedometer...

There's a feature on that '70 Charger in I think last month Hot Rod Mag. Its quite nice I think! They don't go into details about how difficult it was to fit a '71/'74 dash in the car though!
The seats are Ferrari inspired as is the rest of the car. Its called the "Petrol Charger", check it out on Youtube.

yes, the car was build by dave strope from "pure vision"... it's a really beast and a mopar-mix: 70 charger, 68 charger back, 71 charger dash..
