Aftermarket radios..........show em

Post by BarryBum » Sun Jun 15, 2008 9:42 am

I am debating rather to put an aftermarket radio in my 71 or leave the old factory style and just sing to myself. If you've put an aftermarket in the dash, show em off..............

My car didnt come with the original radio, actually no radio at all,but the previous owner had chopped the plastic to fit an after market radio so i just put mine in the existing hole.

^that's what mine looked like...kinda ugly cuz itdidn't go all the way in to meet the dash. so, i got a new dash and put in the factory AM radio. when i had my stereo in there, i mouted it under the dash by building a sheetmetal bracket that wraps around the unit and bolts to the dash.

PS I posted about my stereo while at my dads, so Pop's reply is mine

i was lookin to put an 8track under my dash just for a retro touch - i think it'd be cool to play some zeppelin and floyd on an 8track in a 71 plymouth - pretty badass 8)
