Interior Mockup

Post by Serious Satellite » Sat Jun 07, 2008 10:58 am

I was reading the door panel thread in Questions and answers and thought, hell, it would be a good idea to waste some time mocking up my Satty's interior--which I have stored in my bedroom much to my wife's chagrin. I'm trying to get the floor panels finished and then the dash, then I'll stick the sucker in. Until then. .

Image

It is the best things that I like about the Sattys in 73/74. I have the white Sat Sebring Plus door panels, front and rear, and the bench seats. New white lower door panels, etc.

The pattern on the seat is the 74 wimbledon taken from the 74 Sat Sundance and Roadrunner. Not the red, but the earth tones that came with the Sundance, as shown. I'm putting in either a burnt orange nylon loop carpet, or an emberglow (slightly darker). I'm ditching the Satellite dash insert logo from 74, and putting in the 1967 Satellite emblem shown in it's place. It's a much cooler logo. I'm also going to use that emblem as the rear deck lid emblem, the pillars, and maybe on the bulge hood.

Also. . . if anyone knows where I can get that Sundance wimbledon pattern, I'd sure love to know. . .

i don't think i've seen the sundance pattern reproduced, as usually the cloth insert upholstery uses NOS cloth material. that is going to be an awesome interior. i was thinking about using the 67 emblem for a dash emblem as well, whenever i get to the point of "5 year later" resto

No one has it,they dont make that pattern anymore

Imagine having that interior, and needing it replaced,i have to take mine to someone to see if they can actually mimic it or repair it.

Isnt the same, that fabric was called,i think "Voyager".

Ill tell ya this too.In the 70s the chargers came with a special spring package. That had its own style interior and differences. That idea was transferred to the satellites with a different name.Thats why when sundance owners decode the "A77" it sometimes comes up"Charger Spring Spring",or "Charger Spring Special"

lol, yeah, but if they get the job done...

is your cloth ripped or brittle, or something? do you actually need to replace it, or could you just deep clean it, and maybe dye the vinyl if it's faded/discolored?

just wonderin
