All depends on the tranny and rear end. My '71 383 charger 500 had an auto and 3:23 rear end topped out its speedo. It was a dog under 50 mph but got up and moved over that. My '71 440 GTX with 4 speed and 4:10 rear end topped out at like 130 unless I wanted to try to push the rpm over its readline.

I smell something. I dont think I stepped in it. My guess would be that speedo gear might not be the proper one for that setup. Does anyone else smell it.

idk i've heard plenty of stories of the small motor cars easily goin 130 - i ran easy with a co-worker's friends' LT1 T/A and his speedo was buried....stupid 16 year old kids

130 is not that fast, especially with regular-car gearing... 145 and above is where it gets hard... I deeply buried my 120 speedo with the old 318 more than once.
Our 4cyl. Jetta does 120-125.....

Boss Ride, whats up with the check engine light in your pic?

Apparently there is a small vaccuum pump that pulls fumes from the tank and routes them to the bottom of the intake manifold to get burned up for emissions... I've had three shops tell me it's almost hopeless to fix and to take it to the dealership. It's a simple system of vaccum lines, but whatever circuit in the computer that tells the vaccuum to start pumping, (and it's only like two lbs of pressure) is faulty and nobody seems to know exactly why. The other sensors that trigger the pump are like little solenoids and they are fine.... so... I dunno.

To bad it isnt like my old fiero... I just took the dash bezel off put a small piece of black tape over the check engine light and it was all fixed.
