Actually the Satellite, GTX and Roadrunner were all born from the Belvedere. '65 for the satellite.. '67 for the GTX.. and '68 for the roadrunner.
Belvedere-based models included the higher trimmed Satellite, muscle car GTX and budget musclecar Road Runner. The name lasted through 1970 after which all mid-size models took the Satellite name.
So seniority goes satellite, GTX, then roadrunner... but I'm afraid to know how it goes on Roadrunner nest..

Well I wish I had the cash and I would buy up all these satellites coming on market. Sry to see another one go. :(

nah, the gtx was only a roadrunner in 72...before that, as said before, the satellite was THE high performance car, then the GTX was released in 67...then the affordable hi-po car came in 68, the roadrunner...and before these cars were the max wedge polaras, darts, savoys, and belvederes...now those are cool (even though, pretty ugly :D )

Somebody forgot the Sport Satellite that was discontinued in 69 I believe, maybe 70.

It was a step up from the Satellite with a sporty interior. Which is what the Roadrunners became in 73 and 74, a sporty package when originally it was supposed to be a lean bareboned no frills no carpet muscle car.

Dola: which was kinda strange because it flipped. . .the Satellite Coupe became the no frills package in 73 and 74. (straight out of the dealer brochure).

Which kinda makes that car a bit more interesting. ..if you could find a Satellite Coupe with a big engine, it's heritage would be much more connected genetically to the original Roadrunners.

Weird.

In '66 the belvedere top-of-the-line Satellite model could get a hemi with twin four barrels on it. Next yr GTX came along as top of the belvedere line. 8) AND the roadrunner didn't exist yet so GTX didn't come from the roadrunner....!!!!.... :P
