At some point, complete restore. But for now, get any bugs resolved and enjoy it for awhile. It will remain stock...or close to.

Stupid question, Shouldn't the hood call outs be white with Black numbers on 72?

Not stupid....I am not entirely sure. I have only had a 72 Satellite in the past so this is new to me. I have seen 72's both ways but that could be because the painter/restorer chose it that way. Now that you brought this up, I am also interested to know. I do know that this car had a repaint done in the early 90's, and it was then promptly put into storage for the next 20 years. The paint job has been relayed to me as along the lines of an earl scheib paintjob if you can relate to that. I have not taken delivery of the car yet....it ships to me this week.

I will say it should be White with Black numbers, I only asked since you said 100% original if it was repainted I am sure someone picked the black since they liked it against the orange color.

Gotcha....yeah, should have been more clear on my meaning of original. my concern when purchasing was not messed with drivetrain and interior and had to have an A/C system that was in tact....weather working or not. I understand crappy re-paints. I am no stranger to throwing a cheap paintjob on a daily driver. It will eventually be repainted. I actually like the white with black numbers myself.

So unfortunately, those black call-out labels really started to bug me. On closer inspection, they were not a decal at all. It was masked off and black paint applied, then the 440 was hand cut and stuck on. It was very brittle, so I assume when the repaint was done, replacements were not available, so whoever was in charge made due. They actually did a pretty decent job too. Anyway....all fixed now!
