So why use the term in this group if no one has a Belvedere GTX?

:haha:

Just say you have a Road Runner.
And if you dont have a true GTX from the specific year,Say you have a Road Runner GTX,dont beat around the bush,

Speaking of bush beating the debates are on.

See if I can make this more clear.... GTX and Roadrunners were 2 different names.... you never saw them on the same car until 1973.
Just say you have a Road Runner.
And if you dont have a true GTX from the specific year,Say you have a Road Runner GTX,dont beat around the bush
Because its GTX....... the GTX name was always the top in standard equipment when it was based on the belvedere chassis and satellite chassis. I was just pointing out that at one time even the satellite was based on a chassis line.. the belvedere

only the 67s are called "belvedere gtx" actually, i do believe that technically, the 68-70s are called the "satellite gtx" as the belvedere name was dropped. the sport satellite is basically just a gtx with a 383 instead of a 440 or hemi...then in 71 came the satellite (with sebring and sebring plus variations), the roadrunner (383, 6pak, hemi, or late 340), and the gtx(440, 6pak, or hemi)......in 72, they started the whole "roadrunner gtx" deal, which is just a roadrunner with a 440 and some gtx emblems thrown on it.....in 73 they stopped the gtx (performance wasn't a word people wanted to hear about i guess, with insurance and gas on the rise) i believe the roadrunner was dropped down to a standard engine size of 318 with the 400 (stroked 383) optional...then came the 360 in 74

So the rrs came from satellites?

i dont like ruffling anyones feathers.
I just dont know why everyone uses the terms (or whatever) differently.

mhm....i really kinda want to get a house soon...or a harley lol, but i don't wanna lose my satty and my mustang's payments are withdrawn automatically - on a side note, mustang - the car ford said they'd never have to offer rebates on and held it's value extremely well...lost its value b/c gas prices and overproduction...my car lost about 3K in value over the last 3 months, only puttin on 500 miles

back to it....it'll be a cold day in hell when i let the satty go...despite the occasional work that needs to be done and the low gas mileage (i'm getting about 15 with electronic ignition and headers now, though), it's not gonna happen

Sad but true, they all have to go along with a bunch of other stuff, I unfortunately, ran into a heap of bad luck lately, I was just telling my family a couple of weeks ago, that I will never EVER get rid of my 71.....well, came to the realization that family is utmost of importance, and being what they are, cars are material goods, everything has a price no matter what it is. As the head of the household, and a father.....i have to do what needs to be done, even if it has a direct impact on me.

I will find another when things get back on keel (hopefully a full on Roadrunner this time)....anyway, I will still stop in....I am always Mopar at heart, and especially 71-72 b-body.

You are a great group of guys, and appreciate you all for your wealth of knowledge and such.

I grabbed up the 72 Roadrunner/GTX Dreamcruiseclassics had for sale. Was looking for 100% original A/C equipped car and all the stars seemed to line up on this one. All original and low miles. Some minor rust issues, bit of frame rail work to deal with but it was time....I have had the hunger for another for last couple of years.
