My 1972 Road Runner clone build

Hello all, this is my first post. I have always loved the 1971-4 Road Runners, and last October I found a 1972 Satellite and I started the process of turning it in to a Road Runner clone. I know some people out there hate the idea of a clone, but I want a cool car I could drive. It's hard enough to find a Satellite let alone a Road Runner or GTX. I built the car I wanted to own.

The car started out as a pretty clean 1972 Satellite, 318, auto. It has a mildly built motor and runs great. It also had Road Runner bucket seats and rally gauges. I bought it 200 miles away from my home in Sacramento, CA and drove it all the way home with no problems. The next day after I bought it, I took it apart and dropped it off at a local body shop I have used alot in the past. I had them strip all the paint and old body work off down to metal. Then had them patch any small rust areas and redo any needed body work. Then the car was primed and blocked out, and all jambs painted Sublime Green. Then the outside was painted Sublime green with the center of the hood painted matte black. I had thought about an air grabber, but it just was not going to happen in the time frame I had. Then I added a Road Runner decal set form Phoenix Graphics. And now I am working on the interior. I bought every thing from Legendary Interiors. So far I have installed the head liner, recovered all the seats, recovered all door panels, and I am working on the dash.

So here are some pictures, once again this is a work in progress. I will be getting rid of the wheels on it right now, I have a set of road wheels for it.

Enjoy, and tell me what you think.

Thanks
-Chris

I would trade the wheels for Road Runner parts. Here is a short list of what I need. I would make a good deal.

Road Runner Dash Emblem
Passenger Side Tail Light
Stock radio (working or not)

Also, if anyone has any of these parts and wants to sell them contact me.

This radio would work. I have an AM/FM with cassette for my car..Sorry, not for sale. As far as the other parts you need, I'd have to look.
I did have an extra dash emblem but I sold it to a guy here on the Nest. They do pop up on ebay as well.

Thank you! I will watch that auction.

I am laying the carpet in my car and it is way to big. It came from ACC. Is there any good way to fit it? it seems like the whole carpet is like 8-10 inches to big, why is that? I can make the back section fit good with some triming but the front looks like it needs a lot removed everywhere. Anyone done this before? Tips?

Thanks! And you correct about the taillights. I have not had much luck finding a good taillight for a 1972. Does anyone know if they are being made? Repop?

Which body shop did you use? You're not far from where I got my Satellite last month...
