Whats everyone doing with their cars?,are they restored,not restord,getting restored?,whats the deal?


More people are joining this group and its already hard to tell whos doing what to their cars.

So ill start off,
Mine is currently being restored..

Mine's a nice driver in nice original shape with one older re-paint in the original color...but soon will be re-done. Why? I don't know. I probably won't want to drive it after it's re-done, maybe that's why I'm procrastinating!

I'm waiting for a fairy to pop into my window while I'm sleeping and leave, oh I dunno, maybe 30 grand on my nightstand so I can redo my car. It's driveable now but it's an old resto and a leaking rattle trap. Good news is it needs almost no bodywork. The bad news is it needs just about everything else.

Right now mine is in storage and I will need to find a new storage spot in about 5 months.

I would like to do a resto but until I buy a winning lottery ticket so I can have a place to do it and the $$ to do it she has to wait.

The two cars in my sig pic are the ones I currently own.

The B7 blue 440+6 car is at the low end of being a survivor (original paint, lots of parking lot dings, original interior, engine looks to have been repainted but runs like stock). I've struggled with whether to keep it original or restore....right now I have no plans to touch it.

The EL5 butterscotch 383 car is a southwestern car (absolutely no rust underneath). It's had one repaint and an interior change before I bought it. Once I get the new garage finished, I'll most likely do a repaint and refresh the interior. Might add an A/G hood and spoilers, but haven't decided yet. Probably won't do a full resto, as the underside just looks too nice!

Well I started a resto on a 71RR last fall. I figure it might be on the road in 2010. I bought this car 80% apart, after the previous owner started a resto eight years ago and kind of gave up. Its a EV2 V code car 4 speed Dana car and it still has its numbers matching driveline. Wasn't looking for a project like this but I couldn't resist the 6 pac. The pic was taken 10 yrs ago. Norm

Well, Project Blue Bird still sits in the garage, awaiting the day when the funds and the time allow me to complete her. When time allows, I have made some little bits of progress here and there. I'm not stressing on it though - I'd much rather have it done right but have to wait 5 more years than to slap it together with little to no budget and have it this summer.

Sitting right next to her is the Sebring Plus, which while needing a complete resto itself, is still pretty original, somewhat presentable and quite driveable. I've had it to a local cruise-in or two last year, and will have it out again this year when the weather is nice.

this is mine as of saturday next time i take pics it will be painted.It has been 13 long years.

Did the carpet on my 71 Sat today! It was arduous being my first attempt but fortunately I had a friend who's done a couple on his various resto projects!

The rest of the interior panels and seats will get redyed within the next week or so. Then I'm patching the rust hole in the trunk gutter rail and THEN various fixes like front end work, new gas tank, repair gas gauge, replace stupid long bolts used on exhaust, reroute stupid oil cooler lines so they don't practically drag the ground, etc...!

That's one NASTY old carpet!


To say this is an improvement would be an understatement...

well, i got mine when i was 16, kept it how it was for awhile - was black with a white starsky and hutch stripe (pretty cool actually), painted the motor big bad green, but then re-painted in hemi orange when i put on Indy hi-po heads, side pipes, dyed interior (tried several different combos ie white, black with bright blue, and finally just stuck with black), painted it Intense Blue Pearl with a TON of extra pearl - changes from green to purple highlites in different lighting/moisture in air. added all the sebring plus emblems, 440 fender decals, chrome grant wheel with skull necker knob (matching skull door lock knobs and valve stems lol)......

since then though, i've moved and don't have a garage, so she's starting to rot in the floors and rockers now. now its time for headers, maybe going to dual exhaust (out the back), NEED a new carb (thinkin edelbrock 750), and adding a 71 RTS-style stripe along the side (not going up over the header panel)

that's about it for me

Bought my 71 GTX 2 years ago, put it in a mini-storage, moved, then deployed to Iraq for 15 months.

Now that I'm back, first step is to get it out of storage, get it running (was running and driving - but just barely - when stored) and driving well, throw a coat of flat black primer on it, and take it on Power Tour this summer.
