Road Runner Nest

Is the argent paint used on the 71 grill a textured LIGHT argent or is it DARK argent......I am sure it is light but is it textured light? I have some light textured from Totally Auto that I used on my taillight bezels and was wondering if it was the same. It is textured...........thanks all.

The paint was light and non-textured. Same paint was used for both satellite and runner/GTX grills (runner/GTX is black and silver, satellite is all silver)

Hey General, your grill looks gooood from what I see. What kind of paint did you use? My grill is mostly there but the right headlight I will have to paint. If your lucky enough to find a real NOS cool, but for those who cant, then I guess painting them (from a Sat, or GTX) is the only other alternative.

The black is not painted, I just cleaned andcleaned and polished and polished and then polished again the grille with Mequiars plastic polish. It probably took me 20 hours to do including the light bezels. There was many years of accumulated grime on the surface. The Mequiars polish is not very aggressive. Then I wet sanded the part that was to be painted. I didn't totally remove the old finish because I figured it would be a good base since its been there 37 yrs. Then I used non-textured light argent paint from Totally Auto.

I agree with General, the non-textured grill silver from Totally Auto is a very close match for the original.
