My car is finally back from the shop

Post by bandman » Tue Nov 13, 2007 10:52 pm

Well, last night my baby came home. I hate to say it, but it actually turned out better than I had hoped. I almost chose not to put on the stripes for a while, but as you can see that would have been a mistake. Even my wife told me it was worth the time and money. The pictures do not do it justice.

I decided to make the car the way I wanted it and threw caution to the wind. Please don't pick on the little details, it is pretty close to what I wanted (my car, my way). Now the real work starts.....getting it road worthy and trust worthy.

I still need to rechrome the bumpers, put on the wing, and a lot of other stuff.

The guy who did the work told me he had almost 250 hours into the project. He did a couple things I didn't want, but I still think it turned out great. Details, details, details, and lack of communication.

I am going to post 7 links with pictures. I hope you enjoy them.

Dennis

Like you said your car, your way. Enuff said, period. I'm planning on working on my car more soon. Some day, it will get to the body shop.
Post more pix as you advance.
Keep the faith and good luck.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

The pictures show the car a little darker than what it is. Yet it is still darker than B5 blue which is one of the disappointments. I wanted B5 but I'll be !#% if that isn't B7. I will have to save judment until spring on a sunny day.

That looks sharp. I've never seen the stripes on the hood with the air grabber though. It still looks sharp with them.
