Year 1 only sells a standard kit to replace side-glass weatherstripping. They also say it is not good for show quality. Anybody know where I can get the correct pieces for my ' 72 RR.
Also, their headliner is not corect, according to them. Any advice on that?
Thanks !

Hey roelbest,

I got all my weatherstripping from the Paddock, the brand is Soft Seal.
I looks pretty good I think, dunno if there are any better versions available.

If you are getting new window felt strips, you need to talk to AZ-Nick, he's got what you need. There's a thread on this subject still running on this forum.

I actually feels like a complete fool, I did read a bit of the other forum, but that was before I started taking the RR apart, whick was the last few days, with winter starting over here and the lightbulb in my head never went on
Anyway, I'll be contacting Nick.
Thanks again

As far as I know, no one is reproducing CORRECT quarter glass weatherstripping (the one that goes between the door and quarter windows). The originals had a metal core for strength while repros are all rubber....unless Nick has other cool new repops I was not aware of.

Eric,

the weather strip between the door and quater glass that I got from the Paddock does have a steel core and its almost 100% identical to the original ones. I can't recall the manufacturer, I'll see if I saved the packaging.

Are you talking about the Quarter Window Vertical Seals?

Unless Paddock has changed suppliers and has not updated there website, there product comes from one of my many manufactures that I sell products from. I can say for sure that there rubber strips come with a small piece (very thin) of metal running down one side of it. I have a few in different years in stock and I just looked at them tonight. There website still lists the manufactures part number that I also use when I purchase them from the manufacture.

Quarter Window Vertical Seals

I got mine from GT Restoration in San Bernadino, CA

Checking my receipts, I bought them 4/19/2004 for $33.30/pr plus $7.00 shipping. Item # MB 1855-80

Only real issue I had was not with the seals but with the little and VERY fragile metal tab that is a part of the chrome attached to the window. It goes through a small slot on the seals and then is bent down to hold them in place. When I bent it UP, naturally it broke off.

Turns out to not be a big deal as the seals are a very tight fit to slide into the channel on the chrome piece attached to the front of the quarter window.

I don't remember if the seals had a metal spine in them, but I'm pretty sure they did as they were very stiff.

Yep, part number MB 1855-80 comes from another supplier I carry, it to has the small thin spine in it just like you said.
Here is a picture of one, I took a close up of it and you can just see the metal strip in it.

I think many companies like the Paddock get a lot of their rubber products for a company called Steele Rubber Products. I went right to the source themselves and got their seals especially the ones you guys are talking about for the quarter window. Mine were very factory correct. You can get a huge free catalog from them. http://166.82.96.3/homeframes.html
Hope this helps. :D
