Finally home from the body shop, now I can put it back together.

does GA4 have a bit of a blue tint to it, or is it just the lighting? either way, phenomenal

After grilling my paint guy a little more about the color, turns out according to DuPont, the "modern equivalent" for the original 72' GA4 is a 98' Mitsubishi color (T52 Sydney Blue Effect). There are times it looks blue, other times I can see a slight green tint, and every so often it does look grey especially after dark. I'm not yet convinced it's a perfect match to the original color I remember. It does match well with the old paint chips for 72' I have however. Either way I am very pleased with the end result.

indeeed - my car is supposed to be Intense Blue Pearl (common on late 90s Dodge Rams, Dakotas, etc. but if I park next to one, it's not at all alike...

The installation of the air grabber parts today marks the completion of the body\paint portion of this restoration. With a just few details left on the interior the car is pretty much done. Now if it would only stop raining here, I could go drive it.

Was able to get the car out of the garage today and get some decent pictures.

If I could ask one question.........What size screw did you use to mount the actuator bracket mount to the hood for the air grabber? I have been pondering that question for my car the entire winter.

Screw size is 10-24x ¾" captured washer. If memory serves me correctly, the factory A/G hoods had a nut plate affixed to the inside of the hood brace, the bracket mounted to that and allowed for quite a bit of position adjustment. The Satellite flat hood I used had all the holes punched but no nut plate so I created my own nut plate for this propose, unfortunately I don't have a picture of it. Basically four 10-24 square nuts welded to a sheet plate formed to conform to the backside of the brace.


I do appreciate all the complements received for this project over the last couple of years, thanks much all. I installed the door panels on the car tonight and basically there is not much left to do except clean up the body shop dust and go dive it. I am finding it hard to believe it's finally done.




I want to acknowledge the contribution of every author of every post I have read here on the nest over the last few years. A great deal of the knowledge learned here found its way into this project at some level. Although this project may be a wrap, I'm not going anywhere; I still have enough parts left over to someday put one of my Sats back on the road as a pretty cool daily driver.
