Looking good...Did you transport the car to the body shop on the rotissere?

The body shell was transported mounted up on the rotisserie. Rig was flat bedded from my place to the media blasters a few weeks ago. Flat bedded again yesterday to my body guy's shop where some sheet metal and paint work will take place. I hoping to get it home in about a month or so, another flat bed trip, ready for drive train and suspension components. When it returns to the body shop for final paint it should be on its own wheels and under its own power.

looks great! I wish my 72 RR GTX was that far! What do you mean with media blasting, sand or plastic?

Plastic was used mostly to remove paint and fillers. I'm told plastic won't warp thin metal. Garnet (sand like mineral without the nasty free silica issues) was used to remove the rust left behind by plastic.
Here's a link to my media blaster's website, has more detailed info.

ah ok.. I also wanted to use plastic but this doesn't remove all the rusty spots.. it doesn't even remove the surface rust, surface rust keeps brown after plastic blasting! The guy here quit now, I think it was the only one in the country? He got sick from the Formaldehyd in the plastic he said... who knows... now I will see where I can blast that car, no way I am going to do this by hand! I wish it also would look like yours!

First let me say, wow it looks good
Second, can you confirm if its a console car, which would have a different hump. I'm just starting mine, its 4 spd bench seat car and the prior owner made a mess of the hump area. I'm trying to figure out what it should look like.
Thanks Norm

This was originally a bucket seat automatic console car. It's my understanding that the front seat configuration determined which hump/shifter location was used for the manual transmission cars, not so much if there was a console or not. The hump used here came with the Keisler 5-speed conversion kit and is a bucket seat version, it is a pretty commonly available reproduction, E-bodies use this same hump. The discerning eye will notice a mod to hump installation that is required to provide additional clearance for the Tremec TKO-600 trans. The top of this trans is little more squared off than the 833, needing a some more room on the passenger side floor forward of the cross-member. The console brackets can be seen in some of these shots and with some slight trimming of the lower edge of the console, this change in floor contour should be barely noticeable. Thanks all, for the encouraging comments, Doug
