My Road Runner progress

Post by bandman » Wed Aug 08, 2007 6:26 pm

Here are a couple pictures I took today.

My brother teased me this afternoon and said the car was shot. I said, really? Then he explained that when they took the doors off the car they discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole where the passenger kickpanel was, and you could see the indentation on the inside of the fender where the bullet stoped in the fender. It seems someone might have fired a .22 from the inside of the car, or down through the drivers side. I knew I brought the car home from the wild west, but that is just a little to much.

Looks like another month before I get my baby back. The guys who own the shop are members of our local car club and take their reputation seriously. They back all their work with a lifetime warrenty (as long as you own the car). They are the only ones in the area that back their work.

Steve and Gionni,

Thank you very much for the kind words. I am a person of limited means and even more limited auto skills and I appreciate the support. Thats why I enjoy this site, as well as being a mopar guy. We are passionate about our hobby and we don't demean others or shun them because their toys aren't as good as ours(unlike many ford and chevy guys I know).

Last year a Nats I met a nice guy with a beautiful black 71 GTX and he talked to me about his car for about a half hour (you know the kind of guy I mean). I really enjoyed it because I could tell he loved his car (and so did I). The 2 cars that were next to him, also 71-72 Bbodies owners rolled their eyes almost the entire time. Needless to say I did not speak to either of those gentlemen because I knew they missed the mopar boat and could be better served driving a 5.0 Mustang. It was pretty embarrassing, like being in a popularity contest in HS.

I really dislike people like that.

Sorry about the rant. Have a good day.

Dennis
