I got a chance to buy some 426 Hemi heads. Both heads are showing cracks near the spark plug holes. One head, all four are showing cracks, the other, I could only see 2 cracks....are these repairable?? What would their value be once repaired?? How long could one expect these heads, once repaired, to last?? The last three on the part number on one of the heads was 559.

I was looking at buying a hemi also.....the heads had similar issues..
I asked a friend of mine...who races hemis...he said stay away from
them...the rest of the motor was a raw deal too...
it was a 2500 dollar 1971 hemi..complete???
hole in the block(blew out the drivers side motor mount)
no crank
one head was O-Ringed the other was not
no valve train
stock pistons(paper weights)
bad head cores
cracked crank journals....
bad deal.....the guy said he was told the motor was complete...
a month later he sold it on eBay....with the same dishonest
description...GOT MORE MONEY!!!
I looked up auctions he had bid on...and behold...he had just
bought a HEMI...lol...his must not have been good enuff.
He did live on Shady Lane.

Ask around some more on the heads...would be a shame to
pass something that could be fixed...If the starting price is O.K.

The cracks are common in the hemi heads. They are easy to fix but I would sell them as is and let the buyer fix them the way they want.New heads are about 1200 so these are worth considerably less but at auction you never know.

Do they have the valve train in-tacked?? rocker arms and such
cause if they do...you should feel bad...you are stealing them!

I do feel bad....or at least I did....

The heads are bare heads. All valve train and associated equipment is gone. $200 for the pair is a good price then....sweet! Thats what I thought too.....
