Bruce, thanks for fixing the photos! The previous owner started to paint the car orange. He got as far as the engine bay and jambs. Also looks like he may have grafted a '72 quarter on the passenger's side. There's lot's of mud around the side marker cutout and looks to be a patch. Thanks for the kind words!!

Well, It's been about 6years and 9months since I updated this post. I finally started tearing into my RR this past month. I also rebuilt my garage which, is still under construction. I will try to keep this post updated with my progress.

This is where I'm at now. The drivetrain and interior are out. I'm waiting for the front body mounts (on order) for my rotisserie so that I can get the car mounted and cleaned up. It reeks of mouse feces. I'm also hoping a body guy I know will be stopping by this weekend to look at the car. It looks like it was hit on the driver's rear. There is a slight buckle in the trunk pan and the frame rail is slightly puckered on both sides just below the trunk. It doesn't look too bad but, we'll see. I also have to replace/repair both quarters, the driver's side floor pan and some small patches here and there. I have most of the parts I need to replace already.

Wow! Over 7 years since I last updated my thread! I guess that’s what happens when life gets in the way of our hobby. I finished up my garage and an addition on my house and a bunch of other stuff. I also started working on my Road Runner:

First order of business, replace the rotted driver’s side frame rail. To do this, I removed the floor boards which were pitted and dented and will be replaced too:

After getting in the frame rail, I started looking at the back driver’s side section of the firewall that needed to be replaced. Originally I was going to patch in a piece to fix the area. Then I decided to remove the cowl for a better look. The cowl was also showing rot. Good thing I did, the top driver’s side of the firewall was toast. Sooo...that came out too:

I also found some rot in the torsion bar crossmember. I’m in the process of repairing that now:

I was not expecting to find this much rot.

I’m not sure why my images are showing sideways?!

Awesome space! And it looks like you have a lot of work ahead of you on the RR - damn rust! Looking forward to updates on that well optioned Runner.

I think this forum takes your images and displays them with the long edge on the top and bottom. So, if you take your pictures with your phone in the portrait position (long edges on the sides), then it rotates them so the long edge is on the top and bottom. Just my best guess on what's going on.
