Re: sorta new
Wow! It’s been about a year since my last update. Sorry about that. I did get some things done in that time. I also separated my shoulder back in August, that had me sidelined for a bit I had to get a replacement trunk as mine was pretty messed up. I took the replacement one apart, primed with epoxy and put it back together. I also had to add a 1/16” tig rod (welded on) to the edges. No matter how much I tried, I could not get the quarters and trunk lid to have a closer gap. I also leaded in the quarter seams and got most of the car in epoxy. Recently I have been working on the doors. Like the original trunk, damage and rust were hidden under tons of bondo. I took the doors apart, patched the issues, removed and/or treated the rust and got everything in epoxy. I also had to remove a large area of surface rust on the roof. Having a rotisserie made this a bit easier. I flipped the car over, built a tent around the roof with a plastic bin filled with Rust911. With a sump pump attached to a sprinkler, I ran this solution for about 24 hours until the rust was gone. Worked awesome.

Re: sorta new
Time for my yearly update. I’ve been working consistently on my RR since the last post. I’ve had to basically rebuild my driver’s side fender and patch some spots on the passenger’s side. The front of the driver’s fender was covered in over 1” of bondo. Apparently it was hit hard in this area and crudely “repaired”. I ended up cutting this section off and grafting on a replacement section from a donor fender.

I also had to rebuild the driver’s headlight housing and both inner support braces.

On to the front valance. I had to use a donor because my original was a dented, twisted piece of rubbish:

Thank you ! It hasn’t been easy, that’s for sure. I do enjoy making patch panels for some reason.
