I got the flange located at the lower front side of the right wheelhouse replaced. Thank you
Scott for the pictures! While doing so, I found that the AMD replacement outer wheelhouse does not have the recess at the bottom front to accommodate the flange. The original flange, as you can see from Scotts images, also steps in to accommodate the recess in the outer wheelhouse. Because this recess is not in the AMD panel, I made my patch flat. I also patched in the bottom corner of the right side door pillar. This area was rotted.

Scott’s picture showing the step in the flange and recessed area in outer wheelhouse:

This is the area of the lower corner of the door pillar. I still need to touch up a few spots with the mig:

I also blasted and primed the donor rear section of the trunk. I still need to remove a few pieces off of it that I don’t need.

Hello all, I got the trunk pan in and started mocking up the back part of the trunk, trunk pan extension and quarter extensions. I ran into an issue with the fitment of the left side trunk extension. There was a 1/2” gap between the extension and trunk pan. (I forgot to take a pic of this) After a lot or measuring, I’m thinking my trunk pan was mis-struck or something. The small rib pressed into the left side near this area is way off from the one on the right side and the flange is 1/4” longer in this area than the right side. The gap ran about 1/2” at back then to nothing about 1/4” down the seam. I resent the flange to close the gap. I still need to hammer & dollie it so it looks better (or try to, at least).

This pic shows the rib that’s pressed into the panel:

Hello all, I started mocking up the right outer wheel well and quarter and the left inner & outer wheel wells and quarter. The right side is pretty good. The left inner & outer wheel wells and left trunk extension are giving me a little trouble.

Yes! Mock up everything with sheet metal screws or a few very tiny weld tacks. Make sure everything fits good and all the gaps are good before doing any final welding. Looks great so far!

Hello all, it’s been a while since I’ve updated. I got the wheel wells welded in and am now getting ready to install the quarters for good. I sanded and blasted the inner structure and inner side of the quarters for epoxy and Lizard Skin.
