Cobble Job

I don't think I would put any of my well earned money towards this car. If they did to the body, what they did under the hood I imagine the car would fall apart as it was being loaded onto a trailer.

It doesn't matter what it's coded as since it doesn't have the #'s matching motor, it currently has a 413 wedge (or so they claim). It's far rarer and more valuable than the 400.

idk...i don't think you can really judge a car that isn't original, because so many people over the years do what is "in" for that time...my engine compartment is black, but that's cuz i also blacked-out my hood completely (AAR style)...i think if it was my choice, i would like to have blue, but the black is way easier to keep clean and i could use oil, flame, etc. resistant paint...personally, for a car that isn't original and never will be, it's the way to go. for the motor, i mean, that's just personal preference or whatever is available...sure, proby could've gone with a 383 or something, but why not a 413 -- that's a mega motor, too (right before the 426 mac wedge came out, right? So, why not -- if the original one's not there, go for performance :D The body's not too bad for a decent driver, i don't think. i guess for myself, i would never buy myself a restored car, only an original or a fixer-upper, cuz if u want it done right, do it yourself, because right is different for everyone...that is all

I agree, but I think in this case the black hides a lot, even the alternator was sprayed black, the pics aren't to clear but it doesn't look like a good paint job in the engine compartment.Look at the radiator hose overspray.Just my opinion. :D

I agree with mopar71. I wasn't concerned about numbers matching or even the value of the car. What caught my eye was the quicky paint job under the hood, in my experience it covers up a lot of stuff. Now if they did a quicky job to hide things under the hood, what do you think they did to the body to make it look acceptable? I think they even mention that they did a respray on the car. It just makes red flags come up for me. It might be a very solid car, who can tell without better pictures.

Take a look at the interior shot that shows the the half assed job of hacking inthe wrong carpeting too.

Well it did not get a single bid so I guess lots of people saw the same issues. It makes me sad though because it still looks way nicer than the car in my garage!

I need a huge injection of money to go much further with my 71.
