Re: Finally Paint! (Updated 12/2/10)
Well part of the problem is that Mother Mopar never finished their cars this beautiful! But I wouldn't hold that against you in a car show if I had to be a judge. Are you going to finish the wheel wells in black, or leave them body color? The black behind the front grille area? As nice as it is. I'd leave it, as is. The hard part of judging is trying to explain to people that the car they're bitching about that beat them in a class had the maximum amount of points deducted for what they're complaining about, and it still beat theirs. Which doesn't seem to ever compute with them. That's why I refuse after all these years to judge anymore. I like having all my hair, and don't feel like having to pull it out, ha, ha!

Yes, the wheel wells will be getting the black out shortly. Also, the blackout behind the grill was replicated from what the cars original blackout looked like.

Re: Finally Paint! (Updated 12/2/10)
It's really hard to say how much the disassembly cost since that was done at a different shop and I can't really use it for reference since we were overcharged for all of their services in my opinion. I believe they had around 70 hours disassembling and labeling everything. As far as the shop we are using now, we'll probably have around 12K for paint and reassembly. Most of the body work was done in our own shop, so they just needed to do some final body work prior to paint.

Hey Ryan, talking about cost. No, I don't want to know what thiings cost. But I do want to know is this: Do they just bill you what they did every month, week or what? I assume they send a invoice on what they did and here's a total? Just curious about that part..the paper/documentation part, I guess is what I'm saying

Every time one of the worker's is going to work on the car, they punch the time clock and there is a documentation of how much time you are billed for. This shop is pretty easy going. If they've run out of money, they've kept working on it and just let us know. But basically you pay in advance. Usually 3-5K at a time.

O.K. I was curious as to how this shop does it. Many do it basically the same way but I was curious as to how this shop does things since you stated you had bad dealings with the other one. Thanks

Not to totally change the subject. But what's the story on the Daytona I see in the background in one of your pictures?

Your car looks really GREAT. You will be taking home some first place trophies this summer.

Actually not MCR. We pulled the car out of there quite awhile ago because we weren't happy with the direction they were taking the car. Corey Owens is finishing the car. He's located in Ogilvie, MN. Couldn't be happier with the choice.

That is a Big Willie car that was known as the "Queen". It's for sale, but it is very rusty. The Charger that is seen next to my car is a Hemi car and the Lime Lite Cuda is also a Hemi. The pink Cuda is an AAR. The Camaro that is seen on the lift above my car in some earlier photos is a COPO car that will be way over the top when finished. The owner is going for a 1000 point car.ILUV72RRs wrote:Not to totally change the subject. But what's the story on the Daytona I see in the background in one of your pictures?

From what I remember....Ryan is being very nice about MCR and understating his dissatisfaction with them.ryangtogtx wrote:Actually not MCR.
