Damn... that makes me sick. I should have bought it when I had the chance. Would have taken some creative financing though and I didn't want to go down that road.

The only guy that must feel sicker right now than me has got to be Marty.

Current seller is a greedy bastard for sure.

That car (pilot HEMI) is Larry Shepards...and it's unrestored! Here are a couple pics.

Nice car, without question, but I've got just one quick question concerning the rear drums. I had always thought that there was a 2 inch thick band of red paint around the outside rim of the drum, making the red visible through the holes in the wheels. Here, the entire drum is red. I'm only asking because I was going to paint the red ring on my drums next time the wheels are off the car. Any thoughts? Thanks.
Nice mark up btw!!!

It's back...looks like this time it's getting more bids. He's obviously looking to make a killing on it, $35K and reserve isn't met yet.
I'm really surprised it's bid up that high, maybe some schill bidding going on?

I figured it would top out low 30s. He'd be wise to take that kind of money. That's the first non-Hemi or non-V-code 71 RR I've seen break the $30K mark in a very long time.

A few days left. We'll see how it does.

What is that cannister on the firewall above the heater hoses with the copperish lid?

I've never seen that before in any pics on other cars.

PS: Gee he only wants $55k for it now.

71’ only vacuum actuated heater control valve. That’s the primary reason the 71’s had that vacuum reservoir under the battery tray you had inquired about in the Question & Answer section.

If I remember correctly, that is a strato vent car.

Heater water valves are more commonly associated with A/C equipped cars, the 71' FSM does verify the use of the vacuum controlled heater valve with the Strato-vent (Upper Level Ventilation) system but apparently it did not require the reservoir as it is only listed for the A/C cars.

I thought the price was supposed to drop after unsuccessful sales.
