I do not know a lot about B-Body cars and am looking to find out if anyone knows how many 1972 RR's were built with the 340 cid and 4-speeds that also got the N96 air grabber option. I will try to post a few pics of my car here, I do want to make this car as close to original as I can. I do know that it should not have the spoilers, But they look good...BUT I would love to trade my rear spoiler for the wing type if anyone would like to trade as well....Any way's Thanks and I welcome your comments.
You have a tach, a 4-speed, a Tuff wheel, and a 340... Mmmm! porn... How does one just accidentally buy this without knowing too much about them? I would kill for this car.

I have to say '72 has the best grill in the world, hands down. Well, best rear bumper styling too. Grr, grr, grr, I want!

LOL LOL ... I like it! Porn that is ! ...........I actually do know Mopars BUT not B-Body csrs, When I saw the car drive in, I thought someone added the N96 hood to the car untill I saw it on the fender tag....I have now learned that 1972 was the last year for it...I had no intention to buy a car, I just recently sold 11 collector cars out of the 14 I owned, Long story, no time to deal with them....I kept a 1967 Firebird 400 coupe that I bought when I was 16...I am now 51...I also kept a very rare 1968 Firebird Ram air with round port exhaust....And my wife's Challenger T/A that she has owned for 14 years now....So, I do know a little about these cars It's just that I did not ever see a 72 340 with an air grabber hood prior.....the previous owner had a 1971 grill in the car at one time because he liked the styling better, He kept the 72 grill and installed it just before I bought the car....He gave me the 71 grill as well But could not find the bumper jack for the car ! ...So needless to say I need a jack.....anyone that can help me with finding one please let me know THANKS

N96RR1972,

Dude, that is an awesome looking car. I actually have made my car almost look like yours is suppose too (except mine is B5 blue and a full vinyl top car). That is definetly a car to die for.

My buddy Steve (1972RM23) is gonna be your best friend when it comes to numbers produced.

To wet your appetite, I can tell you.....

There were 329 340's built with a four speed transmission in 1972..... How can I tell? I own one. I can tell you that that stripe package is very rare, except when smucks like me put them on our cars.

Welcome to the nest. I track 71 and 72 cars. Of all the 72s I have on record, about 1/4 have the air grabber hood. I can't say that's an accurate indication of how many the factory produced, only my findings.
Looks like a very nicely optioned car in very good condition! As you may know, front and rear spoilers were not available on these cars in 72.
AKA Butterscotch71....the road runner nest is out to win you over this year!Image

thanks for the info....Yes I found out that the 72's did not have spoilers, but they look nice and they are already installed, So I quess I will let them stay.

fender tag question

Post by 471Magnum » Tue Jul 29, 2008 11:14 pm

So what's with the C12 code? Never seen that before. It's a shoulder belt code.

And no C16 code, but obviously factory console equipped.
