V 21 and V 25 stripes

Post by bandman » Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:03 pm

Does anyone have good pictures of these stripes (Steve?)? I am trying to show my body guy what we are up against, but all of my pictures are from magazines and are lousy. Any detailed pictures for placement and scheme would be appreciated.

Also, it's suppose to be body color behind the air grabber bubble right?

Dave was it your car I saw being painted with the radiator supports blacked out? Could you post that for me again. I am trying to do things right but you know how it is. So much to do, so little time.

Thank you,

Dennis

I stock the stripe kit in matte black "Longitudinal Hood & Decklid
Stripes".....or I can make a stencil kit in low tack decal mask.

the stripe is $100 shipped
mask kit is $150 shipped

Take care scott

I don't believe he was asking for prices....just placement and painting information!

Here are factory engineering drawings from Barry Washington's site for stripe placement.

Yes, body color behind the hood bubble, but the blackout paint from the bubble back to the back end of the hood also extended under the bubble a little ways, to half way across the rearmost holes where the bubble attaches (I really hope that made sense). I've got an original hood in the garage...try to snap a pic later.

Thanks Eric, that is exactly what I need. I look forward to seeing your picture with the bubble. I think I understand what you mean.

Dennis

PS Scottish I will do a little price checking and get back to you. I would hate to get something that isn't right, that is that obvious.

The hood and trunk stripes were a 72 only thing, available on air grabber hoods. They're not very common either....

I have lots of pictures of V21 V25 stripes ... let me see what I can post.
with V21 hood stripes on a N96 car (for 1972) it was body color behind the dome.
The stripes and behind the dome paint would not run parallel.
I do believe than 1972 N96 car w/o the V21 stripe should have paint behind the dome up to the cowl.
