great news - 71-72 Quarters

Post by Eric » Fri Aug 10, 2007 9:17 pm

Just got back from a day at the nats....
I stopped by the AMD (Auto Metal Direct) tent to see what new sheetmetal they had. First saw them at Carlisle where they had new shaker hoods for cuda and challenger, 68-69 charger fenders, charger hoods, and lots of floor pans and trunk floors, all new sheetmetal. This time, the also had cuda, 70 RR/GTX, and charger tail panels, challenger two scoop hoods, 68-69 rr/GTX quarters, etc. etc.
I had asked them at Carlisle about the chance of reproing 71-72 Plymouth B quarters. The guy said he'd had a lot of people ask for these, and he would be talking with his partners as soon as he got back to the shop in Georgia....well I saw him again today and asked about the quarters. He tells me they already have a set of NOS ones to use as templates and they should have prototypes out by next spring with production units by end of next summer!!!!!
Finally someone is stepping up to make parts for our cars. If the quality is as good as what they already have, these will be perfect replacements.

DOH...I didn't think to ask them about the trunk extensions!!!

Here's their contact info. I bet a few calls from all of us would help convince them.
