production figures

Post by aerodynamic » Tue May 29, 2007 8:21 pm

Does anyone know where I can get production figures for 73 B-Bodies? I'd like to know how many Satellites were produced vs Road Runners.

Thanks,

Greg

According to the little white book:

13,570 Satellite 2 door coupes
51,575 Sebring 2 door hardtops
43,628 Sebring Plus 2 door hardtops

108,773 total

Compared to:

19,056 Road Runner 2 door hardtops

Galen's white book doesn't list any Road Runner coupes for 1973.

All 73-74 RR's were coupes RM21 cars.
You could have ordered power windows and the rear window would have been operable (RR hard top) but was still coded as a RM21 car.

Oh yeah, that's correct. The white book only lists RM21 prefixes for the VINS... and then proceeds to call them all 2 Door Hardtops, fwiw. Galen seymantics, I guess... how many buckets of fried chicken did he consume in 1973? :D

I wrote to Galen to ask what I needed to do to find out how many 73 Runners were born with full vinyl tops, but he never got back to me. I would have paid him if that was what he wanted. Maybe he doesn't give a crap since it's a post-71 car. The reason I wanted the info above was because I noticed other people at car shows have informational plaques and flyers about their cars, so I made one up. It's surprising how many people don't know about the 73/74 cars. Then again, others have come up to me excited because "so-and-so used to have one and I haven't seen one of these in years".

I share their excitement. I'm still giddy walking out into the garage in the morning.

I'd also like to have a 71/72 some day as well.
